Frostgrave: First Game

Today my son came to visit me for Father's Day and we played a test/first game of Frostgrave. We used 1/72 scale toy soldiers as we had plenty around. I used dwarfs, he had humans and we used skeletons for the Mausoleum scenario. All miniatures save 1 were Caesar Minis 1/72 hard plastics, James wizard was a plastic minis from a boardgame.

We played this first game as a cooperatvie game of us vs. them. We won quite quickly and tallied up the loot and experience. It was fun and we've decided off of this that we will pursue 28mm warbands. Model selection and details to come.  It was fun.

Frostgrave

Well the Frostgrave bug has bitten. One might call it "frostbite?" I'll be here all day. Anyhow I bought the book, read it, and like it. In fact I like it a lot. It checks a lot of boxes for me. I let my son read it and it's the first fantasy miniatures game that he is excited about in over a decade.

He is talking about fielding a chronomancer or necromancer. I am leaning towards the necromancer and the enchanter. We have no official Frostgrave models yet but most games I've seen are played with other makers anyway. We have plenty of Reaper models to scour through and quite a bit of boxed game models as well, like Descent and Talisman.  I will post pictures and more info later once we start the assembly process.
